Protecting the SQYC with a turnkey High Pressure Fogtec Water Mist System

Overview

A highly prestigious project, plans for the Sultan Qaboos Youth Complex Salalah were announced during celebrations for the Sultanate of Oman’s 40th Renaissance Day. The initial plan for the firefighting system for the project was designed with FM200 for the library and museum areas.

Solution

The design of the water mist system for two floors including Library, Museum, Display Hall, etc., was completed by Khimji Ramdas Engineering products & Services along with Fogtec and this resulted in the consultants deciding to replace FM200 with the Fogtec Water Mist System.

Result

Having secured the order for the complete turnkey solution for design, supply and installation of the water mist system through a value engineered design proposal, the project was implemented and successfully completed in 2019. This included the final testing and commissioning with Civil Defense authorities’ approval.

Conclusion

The two floors of the building including the Library, Museum, Display Hall, etc., are currently protected by the water mist system, which is safe for people and the environment.
